Chincoteague Island is home to a growing number of local artists. You are sure to find a variety of media from painting, sculptures, hand made beads and jewelry, glass and metal. Visit the local galleries, attend one of the many concerts, or participate in the 2nd Saturday Art Strolls. Museums on the island display artifacts from the past, and help us all understand how this little community has changed by remaining the same throughout the years.

There is plenty to do in and out of the water when you visit these two islands. The primitive style beach provides low-key relaxation that is a hard find anywhere else on the East Coast. Surf fishing, guided fishing tours, deep sea fishing and pier fishing are all available in the area. Kayaks, boat rentals, and nature cruises are also great ways to enjoy your stay.

A rest stop along the East Coast Migratory path brings many wonderful species of birds to the island throughout the year. You will find many wonderful birding spots around the islands. Enjoy the trails, many paved, on bike or foot while visiting the islands.
