Ever Considered a Virginia Beach Wedding?

February 17, 2013 by islandmanor

Lots of brides visualize their wedding taking place on the beach but…all that sand! How do you work with it?

How about a twist on the traditional beach wedding – get married on Chincoteague Island on the Virginia coast, but in a clean and luscious garden setting only steps from the ocean? Warm Hospitality, personalized service and a unique location is what can be expected when you host your event at the 1848 Island Manor House. From initial planning for your special weekend (or if its an elopement, we can help you with that as well!), we pride ourselves in our attention to detail. Let us make your special day one you will always remember fondly.

Our garden is the perfect venue for a larger event or the dining room is appropriate for a smaller wedding. Since our inn is only about 500 feet from the ocean, you can have the feel of a beach wedding without all that sand! The sea is right there as a great place to take photos, either way.

A happy bride from a 2012 wedding at the Island Manor House.

We can accommodate events of up to 100 guests. Whether you are looking for an indoor or outdoor wedding, we can help you make the arrangements. As the largest B&B on Chincoteague Island, we can accommodate 18 guests and an additional 14 guests at our sister Inn, Miss Molly’s, directly across the street.

Here is a recent Facebook post from a bride who chose Island Manor for her destination wedding:

“Beautiful wedding, intimate and well organized. I was surprised by this well tucked away venue. The menu was awesome and exceeded my thoughts of an intimate wedding. Having a captain perform the ceremony set the tone of the venue and made it feel more of a destination wedding. Everything about the wedding definitely fit the character of my friend, simply elegant.”

We hope you will consider us for your Virginia wedding – have the best of both worlds: an elegant garden venue only steps from the beach. Make sure to contact us right away to book a summer wedding for 2013.

Elope on Chincoteage Island

January 31, 2012 by islandmanor

If you’re ready to marry but don’t want a big wedding, elope on Chincoteague Island.

they walked off into the sunset and lived happily ever after

Elope on Chincoteague Island; it's romantic.

Big weddings aren’t for everybody. Some people can’t afford them, some people don’t like crowds, and still others simply want to share the moment with their very closest friends and family. Elopements at our Chincoteague Island Bed and Breakfast offer a nice alternative to large scale weddings.

A wedding certainly doesn’t need to be big to feel special. Our inn has a romantic, intimate setting that is ideal for just the two of you or up to fifteen guests.

You’ll feel the uniqueness of the occasion from the moment you first enter the inn and find chocolate covered strawberries and champagne in the Bridal Suite.  We’ll arrange the wedding ceremony, with celebrant, wedding cake, and a bottle of champagne. Let us know the colors you prefer, and we’ll provide a bridal bouquet and a boutonniere. All you have to do is show up at the appointed time and say your vows.

During your stay, you’ll be pampered with gourmet breakfasts and Mimosas each morning, and an English Tea one afternoon. We’ll make arrangements for you to dine at the restaurant of your choice in town one evening. Any extra special touches you would like during your stay can be arranged.

Island Manor House accommodates 18 guests; across the street, Miss Molly’s Inn accommodates 14 guests. With advance planning, you and your friends and family can have the inn to yourselves. If you prefer, you can enjoy privacy among strangers while your friends and family lodge across the street.

Our Chincoteague Island Bed and Breakfast is an easy drive from Baltimore, Washington D.C., Annapolis, or Norfolk VA. At the same time, our island feels like another world. It’s peaceful here. It’s romantic. It’s an ideal place for an elopement.

Please visit our Elopement page for more information about eloping at Island Manor House Bed and Breakfast.
